1. UHC Premium Designation Program
We are excited to offer the UHC Premium Designation Program again this year on both of our Medical Plan options: the High Deductible Health Plan and the PPO. This program helps you avoid higher complication and surgical repeat rates, unnecessary hospitalizations, and longer hospital stays. This is an opportunity to lower your out-of-pocket costs. Doctors ranked on two main criteria, quality of care and cost efficiency. The Premium Designation Program includes a shaded heart system to designate providers, making it easier to identify which physicians are considered premium care physicians.
When you go onto www.myuhc.com, click on find a doctor. Look for a doctor with the premium care physician designation. Premium designations are displayed publicly in the care provider directories to help employees make health care choices and for physicians to make referrals.

2. ProScan Diagnostic Imaging
Costs for complex imaging can vary widely based on where the service is performed. For example, if you go to a local hospital for an MRI, it can cost as much as $2000. The same service at ProScan would cost $500. ProSan Imaging has been placed in Tier I of the UHC Premium Designation Program, so this provides an opportunity for savings to you, as well as the Health Plan.
